Always observe specimen beginning with the lowest power objective first.

Use only the fine adjustment knob when using the highest (longest) power objective.

To reduce eyestrain, keep both eyes open when looking through the microscope. Also, keep eye a little above the eyepiece when viewing (less eyelash interference).

To find out the total magnification of the object, multiply the power of the eyepiece lens (usually 10X) by the power of the objective.

Do not change from one objective to another without teacher permission.

Clean up all materials when finished.
