The photographs below illustrate the basic comparison of plant and animal cells.

1.Plant cells have a cell wall, animal cells do not.
2.Plant cells have chloroplasts, animal cells do not.
3.Plant cells generally have a more rectangular shape (because of how rigid the cell wall is), while animal cells are usually more rounded or have an irregular shape (unlike plant cells, they do not have a cell wall).
4.Plants cells usually have one (or a few) large vacuole(s), while animal cells have smaller vacuoles, if any are present.
