Science Language Students Should Know And Use.


The maximum distance from the resting point of a wave.

Complex machines:

A machine that utilizes two or more simple machines. (inclined plane, wedge, screw, lever, wheel and axle)


The capability to do work or cause a change.


A push or a pull on an object


A force that opposes motion. The  force that one surface exerts on another when the two rub against each other. 


The  invisible force that pulls objects toward each other.  

Potential energy:

Energy that is stored and held in readiness.

Kinetic energy:

Energy of movement or motion.


A disturbance that transfers energy from place to place.
