The water cycle never ends. It is powered by the sun. Roll over the picture at the right to see how water changes during the water cycle.

Basically, the sun can heat liquid water and turn it into a vapor or gas. This process is called evaporation.


When the vapor cools it condenses back into water. This is called condensation.


Look closely at each photo blow. Make your best guess about whether the photo shows evaporation or condensation. Follow the directions below the photos to check your guesses!
